Dr. Ravi Chander Thatipelli

Dr. Ravi Chander Thatipelli an Associate Professor & HOD of Pharmacy Practice. He has 10 years of teaching and research experience. He obtained PhD degree from JNTU, Anantapur in 2015. He has about 20 research paper publications in UGC, Scopus indexed journals with research paper presentations in about 15 National & International conferences across India and guided 18 Pharm. D students. An e-book on “ in collaboration with “Lambert Academic Publishing House”, Germany stands as his achievement. He is involved in teaching and research in the areas of Pharmacology and pharmacy practice. His research focus is in medicines management at the interface of care, medication reconciliation, and access to medicines.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMCOLOGY AND PHARMACY PRACTICE

The Department of pharmacology is involved in research and academic activities. The subjects in Pharmacology introduce students to the unified study of the interaction of chemical agents and living matter. The emphasis is placed on the principles of drug action and on the reactions of living processes to drugs. Toxicology, a division of Pharmacology, is concerned with the adverse effects on life of therapeutic drugs and other chemicals. Toxicology is of increasing relevance to modern society.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice is more focused towards developing competent clinical pharmacist with advanced research in the following areas:

  • Drug Utilization Evaluation and Review

  • Development and implementation of Standard treatment guidelines

College offers six-year integrated Pharm. D (Doctor of Pharmacy) course with the goal to provide direct patient care. The department of Pharmacy Practice is attached to Maxcure Hospital, a 200 bedded tertiary care hospital with modern and ultramodern healthcare facilities and multispecialty departments. Pharm.D students are trained to develop the skills required to solve the complex medication management problems presented in health care today while providing patient-focused care. It enables the student to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. After completing the Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) the student will be able :

  • To design, implement, monitor, evaluate, adjust and accept professional responsibility for patient specific, evidence-based care to promote safe and optimal pharmacotherapy outcomes.
  • To demonstrate skills in monitoring of the National Health Program and schemes oriented to provide preventive and promotive health care services to the community
  • To Identify and implement cost-effective patient care and resource management practices that do not compromise quality of care.
  • To demonstrate leadership qualities to function effectively as a member of healthcare team and manage human, physical and financial resources to support a successful practice
  • To operate and manage medication use systems, policies, procedures and records in accordance with state and federal legal regulations, institutional policies, ethical, social, economic, and professional guidelines.
